I Heart Faces :: Pets Only

It's Pets Only for this week's photo challenge at I Heart Faces. And just look at this face I'm entering! Who could possibly resist this face!?!

Bubba is my slobbery, smellier son... er... English Bulldog.

He loves my bacon, eggs, and sometimes even helps me out with that early morning sacrificial pancake. You know that very first pancake that just doesn't look like you want it to look? Yeah, well, Bubba loves those.

He's single, but I have to tell you I am pretty particular about any potential young females he might set his eyes on. You know how mothers are with their boys.. ahem.. dogs. We are very lucky Bubba is back home. He recently had a heat stroke and after a few weeks of babying is doing well and enjoying spending time with his friends, Donald and Daisy (or is it Donna and Daisy? We still aren't quiet sure.)

Head on over to I Heart Faces to see all of the other beautiful pet faces hanging out over there. While there, be sure to congratulate Angie and Amy on their TWO nominations for the Blog Luxe Awards! (And then, I'm sure they'd love it if you took a second or two and voted for them, too.)

Looking Forward to Slobber

OHSH---5293.jpg

My sweet Bubba is coming home today.  I honestly didn't know how much I would miss those big brown eyes, the wrinkles that make him seriously look like an old man, and all that slobber that just continuously falls from his sweet face.

I didn't know I'd miss him until he got sick.

Each afternoon, he loves to ride around the farm on our mule with Little Buddy. No, not a mule as in animal, a mule as in a farm vehicle. It's their special time together every day. It's really sweet to see them. Anyway, this past weekend, he decided to get off said mule and run.

Now, just let me say, Bubba doesn't run. It's just not in his nature to run. He wasn't breed to run. He's like me, running just isn't what we do.  Well, at least I thought we didn't.

But on that day, Bubba decided he wanted to be a runner.

He took off like a shot to the barn. With everyone chasing after him because we knew he shouldn't be running. It was quiet a sight.

And then, he overheated. That happens pretty rapidly with bulldogs. They really are built to be a lazy man's (or Mama's) best friend. I think that's why we get along so well. We understand one another.

To make a long story short, Bubba has been at the veterinarian's office all week. But today.... he's coming home.

And for once, I am looking forward to being slobbered.

Bubba the Bulldog

I love this dog.

OHSH---5297.jpg

He absolutely is one of the sweetest, most ornery acting dogs I've ever met in my life.

OHSH---5299.jpg

His name is Bubba and he is ruler of the roost. All the animals around these parts know it. {But he's really a big ole softy. His new best pals are Donald and Daisy.}

OHSH---5293.jpg

He likes to root around in the dirt, can you tell by his nose? This is his face when I told him he was my favorite dog in the whole wide world and asked him if he loved me. I think this is his "Yes" face.

And then I told him he sure needed a bath. He doesn't like baths, but he could use 10 a day with a super-duper good smelling kind of soap. And a pedicure. He really needs a pedicure.

And a bib to catch all that drool.

I'm lovin' Bubba on over at Tidymom's for I'm Lovin' It this week.
